Boston International Film Festival

There’s a strong appreciation for the arts in downtown. It adds a touch of cultural value that makes this neighborhood hard to resist. In fact, for the past 15 years, hundreds of local national, and international filmmakers have traveled to our little corner of the world to celebrate at the Boston International Film Festival (BIFF). This year’s festival, running from April 13 through April 17, will be playing at three downtown venues including AMC Loews Tremont, The Paramount, and BPE Studio.

The festival will open at AMC Loews Tremont as writer and director James Gray premieres his new film, “THE LOST CITY OF Z” starring Robert Pattinson, Charlie Hunnam, Sienna Miller, and Tom Holland. Based on the true story and author David Grann’s bestseller, the film follows British explorer Percey Fawcett (Charlie Hunnam) who journeys into the Amazon at the dawn of the 20th century only to discover evidence of a civilization that may have once existed in the region.

After the screening, Mr. Gray will host a Q&A session followed by an opening night party where you can mingle with filmmakers, actors, and producers. The festival will provide a cultural platform for more than 100 films, including some of this year’s most artistic andthought-provoking works of art.
