Have you ever considered running in the Boston Marathon? It takes dedication, commitment, and hours of intense training. In fact, entry for the Boston Marathon is among the most coveted achievements in the running world. And on Monday, September 11, at 10AM thousands of people who meet the qualifying race standards will register for the 2018 Boston Marathon.

Here’s what you need to know about registering for the 122nd Boston Marathon:

When is the 2018 Boston Marathon?

The Boston Marathon takes place on Patriots’ Day, which is Monday, April 16, 2018.

How many people participate in the race?

In the last three years, the Boston Marathon had a field size of 30,000 official entrants.

How does registration work?

Registration occurs on a “rolling admission” beginning with the fastest qualifiers. Registration remains open until all qualifying spots have been filled.

What are the qualifying standards?

Qualifying standards are based on age group and gender. See the chart below for more information:
