Donya:
I’ve been called a free spirit. I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing, but it is accurate. Before I started working in the restaurant industry, I was very shy. I overcame my shyness by getting to know guests and using humor more, although I do still have bouts from time to time. I find cooking very therapeutic and I dabble in baking. I’m looking for a great carrot cake recipe if anyone has one!
I am a supervisor, bartender, server, therapist, comedian and contortionist. All jokes aside, it’s a very unique environment and all of us that work here have the ability to adapt in a moment. I really enjoy helping people plan their private dining events. I never knew that kids’ birthdays could be so fun for adults too!
It’s hard to pinpoint what I like the most about working here. If I have to pick one, I’d have to say the people. There is such an interesting mix of people from all walks of life. Getting to know them and their stories is very inspiring.
I like to watch sunsets at the beach and go to the archery range for target practice. There is something so gratifying about taking a shot and hitting the bullseye! I’d like to see more of New England, so I hope to go on some weekend trips this season.
