Sugar might have a bad reputation when it comes to your diet, but it’s a great ingredient in skincare. The fine texture gently exfoliates the skin and banishes imperfections caused by sun exposure and pollution. So, if summer took a toll on your skin, you can transform your complexion this fall by indulging in a sugar-body scrub treatment at FLX Salon & Spa.

A lover of all things sugar, I was instantly intrigued by this new offering, so I scheduled an 80-minute appointment with Brittney. Rumor has it that she’s one of the best, new massage therapists (and spoiler alert…I agree). Brittney used an all-natural and organic lemongrass & green tea product by BCL Spa. These ingredients work wonders together. The green tea reduces inflammation and redness while the lemongrass, a natural disinfectant and astringent, eliminates toxins, minimizes the appearance of pores, and removes excess oil.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I got to the Spa Treatment Room for my appointment, but Brittney instantly put my mind at ease. The experience is similar to a massage, but instead of oils, your therapist will use the sugar scrub to exfoliate your hands, feet, and body. After you’re exfoliated, the therapist will use a warm towel to remove any excess product and gently massage your body with moisturizing lotion, leaving the skin feeling silky, smooth, and replenished. Days later, and I was still glowing and velvety-soft. Brittney recommended a monthly regimen, and with the harsh, colder weather ahead of us, I’m certain I’ll be treating my skin to this purifying and antioxidant-rich treatment all winter long.

As if this service wasn’t sweet enough, you can enjoy an introductory discount with this month’s FLX Salon & Spa promotion. CLICK HERE to schedule your first treatment and transition your skincare routine into the new season.
